The "War Supplement" issue of this famous illustrated newspaper...

WAR SUPPLEMENT to FRANK LESLIE'S ILLUSTRATED NEWSPAPER, May 31, 1862 A very war-themed masthead which features a four page foldout: "Bombardment of Forts Jackson & St. Philip...Under the Command of Flag-Officer Farragut, Engaging the Rebel Forts...On its Way to New Orleans...". This print is cut at the middle due to the binding & trimming process so disfigured as such with a bit of loss from the trimming.
Other prints include two front page naval-themed prints; a full pager; "War on the Mississippi - First Raft Sent Down from Fort Jackson to Destroy the National Fleet..."; a full page: "...Discharge of Grape from Fort Jackson..."; and four prints on the back page including one of Flag Officer David Farragut, with text.
Complete in 16 pages with the trimming as noted above, otherwise in nice condition.
