November 24, 1881
KERN COUNTY WEEKLY RECORD, Bakersfield, California, Nov. 24, 1881
* Rare wild old West publication
It is a rarity for us to find 19th century newspapers from the southern half of California. In 1880, Bakersfield had a population of just 801 with 250 of Chinese descent. The current population is over 400,000.
Complete in four pages, various news and curious tidbits of the day, and a wealth of Old West style ads, including one showing a building as if right out of the movies.
Never bound nor trimmed; nice and clean condition except for minor margin wear, 11 1/2 by 16 inches.
