Phrenology is a theory stating that the personality traits of a person can be derived from the shape of the skull. Although holding no validity today, it was a popular science in the mid-19th century and this periodical focused on it.
Inside has the portraits of two notables, one: "Clark Mills" with text on him, and the other the famous suffragist and women's rights advocate "Lucretia Mott" with an article on her.
Other illustrations within as well.
Complete in 24 pages, 9 by 11 1/4 inches, very nice condition.
