THE LONDON GAZETTE, England, Aug. 25, 1684 The front page begins with a report from "Algiers" noting in part: "...from Tunis we have advice that the forces which went lately from hence, having joyned with those commanded by Mahomet Bey...they marched against Alley Bey, younger brother of Mahomet whose forces exceeded theirs in number..." with more.
