Astrology newspaper proves correct in predicting McClellan's future...

Item # 689740

December 01, 1861

BROUGHTON'S MONTHLY PLANET READER & ASTROLOGICAL JOURNAL, Philadelphia, December, 1861

* Uncommon publication
* Astrology - Horoscope
* General George B. McClellan

A fascinating and very unusual newspaper of small-size themed on predicting what would happen in the future as well as astrology and phrenology.
The ftpg. has: "The Nativity of Gen. George B. McClellan" which includes: "...will cause him to be very cautious in all he does & he will never want to undertake anything or make any particular move without being sure that he is safe...his nativity would indicate that there is much danger of him being too cautious, & by that means missing some good opportunities that he might have taken advantage of to have defeated his enemy...".
Curiously, this is a prime reason why Lincoln would replace his as commander of the Army in late 1862.
Also on the front page: "The Nativity of General Winfield Scott" & inside has: "Comets" "Fate of the Nation" & "Signs of The Times".
Four pages, 5 3/4 by 9 inches, nice condition.
