Jefferson Davis at the capitulation of Monterrey...

DAILY NATIONAL INTELLIGENCER, Washington, D.C., Feb. 12, 1847 Pages 3 and 4 contain great content headed: "The Capitulation Of Monterey - Official Papers and Letters", the first of which is a half column letter signed in type: Jefferson Davis.
At the time Davis was a Colonel in the "Mississippi Rifles" which he organized. He also fought in the Battle of Buena Vista, being shot in the foot.
Following his letter is a lengthy document carrying over to page 4: "Memoranda of the Transactions in Connexion with the Capitulation of Monterrey...", also signed: Jefferson Davis, Colonel Mississippi Riflemen. Then more documents and the terms of capitulation of Monterrey which includes Jefferson Davis' signature in type, and also that of: Z. Taylor (his former father-in-law).
Four pages, irregular at the spine margin, wear at the central fold affects very little in the mentioned content.
