DAILY RICHMOND EXAMINER, Virginia, Feb. 19, 1862

* Battle of Fort Donelson - Captured
* From the capital of the Confederacy

The front page has both ads and news, including: "The Stone Blockade In Europe" "What Is Thought Of It" "Notes of the War" which has subheads: "The Ruin of Our Army" "The North & the Blockade" 'Yankee Speculators--A Specimen" and a bit more.
Page two includes the always interesting editorial from this editor, which includes: "Days of adversity prove the worth of men and of nations...if the inhabitants of the South have any real manhood these reverses will inspire them with determination. They will cease to palter between the laws of peace & the measures of war...we shall sink under it, be subjugated by Lincoln and ruled forevermore by foreigners, after having been insulted, plundered and reduced to misery by Yankee general and soldiers. We shall be conquered because we deserve to be conquered...No powerful nation has ever been lost except by its own cowardice..." and much more, taking over a full column.
Also on page 2 is: "The Capture of Fort Donelson" with much reporting from: "The Confederate Congress" and "Legislature of Virginia". Page 3 has: "Examiner's Correspondence" and much from: "The Courts" as well as "Telegraphic News" which includes subheads: "The Capture of Fort Donelson Confirmed--The Northern Account of the Battle..." with more (see). Also: "The Yankees Threaten to Capture Savannah". Much of the back page is taken up with a long list of Acts from the Confederate Congress.
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed (desired), very nice condition.
