THE NEW YORK TIMES, July 15, 1916 The front page has a one-column headline: "MORE SHARKS TAKEN IN NEARBY WATERS" with subheads: "Large Specimens Caught Off Jersey and Long Island Coasts and Many Others Seen", "Mouth Fourteen Inches Wide", Sharks Still In the Creek", and continues on page 4 with: "Many Sharks Reported", "Calls This Shark Year", and more. This article pertains to the numerous shark attacks which were occurring along the New Jersey shoreline and vicinity during the summer of 1916.
