Pages 4 & 5 have reports on the execution of Albert Hicks, known as "Pirate Hicks", the last person in the United States to be hanged for piracy.
A lengthy editorial begins: "Yesterday the life of Albert Hicks was taken by his country in just retribution for his crimes...". Then also; "The Hangman's Mob" and then: "Execution of Albert W. Hicks" which begins: "Albert W. Hicks, the pirate, was executed on Bedloe's island at eleven o'clock yesterday afternoon...". This report gives the details of his execution.
