The front page has several war reports, including: "Surrender Of Fort Macon" "The Bombardment Of Fort Macon--Further Details" & "From Richmond" "Official Correspondence--Commodore Farragut's Summons For Surrender--Noble Spirited Reply Of Mayor Monroe." Summons is signed in type: D. G. Farragut, & reply is signed in type: John F. Monroe.
There is also a very interesting extract of a personal letter from a Confederate surgeon to his mother: "The Battle of Shiloh--A Surgeon's Experience" which takes most of a column.
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, scattered foxing, good condition.
