A very early issue of this famous anti-slavery title...

Item # 684293

September 10, 1836

THE LIBERATOR, Boston, Sept. 10, 1836  It is rare to find such early issues of this famous anti-slavery title edited by William Lloyd Garrison. It began publication just 5 years earlier. The masthead features a woodcut of a slave auction.
Much anti-slavery content as one might expect, with articles including: "Birmingham Baptist Missionary Society--Slavery In America" "Anti-Slavery Meetings" "One Way To Raise A Mob" "Death of Moses Brown" "To The People of Color Throughout New England" and more.
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed (uncommon to find as such), scattered foxing, nice condition.

Item from Catalog 341 (released for April, 2024)

Category: Pre-Civil War
