September 10, 1836

THE LIBERATOR, Boston, Sept. 10, 1836

* Rare anti-slavery publication
* Early pre-Civil War era

It is rare to find such early issues of this famous anti-slavery title edited by William Lloyd Garrison. It began publication just 5 years earlier. The masthead features a woodcut of a slave auction.
Much anti-slavery content as one might expect, with articles including: "Birmingham Baptist Missionary Society--Slavery In America" "Anti-Slavery Meetings" "One Way To Raise A Mob" "Death of Moses Brown" "To The People of Color Throughout New England" and more.
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed (uncommon to find as such), scattered foxing, nice condition.

Category: Pre-Civil War
