When it comes to reports on the infamous "Black Sox" 1919 World Series, it would be difficult to find a better newspaper for such reports.
The front page has one column heads: "JUDGE ADMITS CONFESSIONS OF 'BLACK SOX' " "Hear $10,000 Paid for Stolen Waivers".
The article begins: "After a heated legal battle Judge Hugo Friend yesterday admitted into the evidence at the 'Black Sox' trial the full confession of Eddie Cicotte, 'Lefty' Williams, and Joe Jackson, former White Sox stars, that they had participated in a plot to throw the 1919 world's series for $100,000...". The article takes a full column and continues on page 4.
Complete in 22 pages, address stamp above the masthead, nice condition.
