NEW YORK DAILY TRIBUNE, Aug. 9, 1854  Beginning on page 5 and concluding on page 6 is a very lengthy report of events in Europe which is written by Karl Marx, and is appropriately signed in type: Karl Marx.
Karl Marx was the communist revolutionary who would become more famous after his death than during his lifetime. He spent most of his life in exile, part of which was in London where he joined the Communist League. His income while in London was supplemented by weekly articles for the New York Tribune, writing as a foreign correspondent.
