Item # 681343

October 07, 1926

ALLENTOWN MORNING CALL, Pennsylvania, Oct. 7, 1926

* Babe Ruth hits 3 home runs
* World Series of baseball
* New York Yankees

 In the annals of World Series history one of the outstanding events remains Babe Ruth hitting three home runs in the fourth game of the 1926 World Series. That event is reported in this issue.
Of significance--and not commonly found--is the great front page coverage. More typically the event is reported on an inside page.
The headline proclaims: "BABE RUTH SLAMS THREE HOME RUNS AS YANKEES REGAIN BATTING EYES AND WALLOP THE CARDINALS, 10 TO 5". One of the subheads: "Two of Bambino's Clouts Clear Park---Other Lands in Centerfield Bleachers".
Also adding great graphic appeal is the photo, a full-figure photo of Babe Ruth swinging, captioned: "The Bam, Bam, Bam Bambino".
There are additional reports on Babe Ruth on page 24.
Complete in 30 pages, rejoined at the spine, the slightest loss at the very top of the spine, a little margin wear, generally in good condition.
