November 13, 1907
THE EVENING TRIBUNE, San Diego, Nov. 13, 1907

* President Theodore Roosevelt address
* "In God We Trust" on U.S. Coins ?

The top of the front page has a nice banner headline: "'IN GOD WE TRUST' IS NOT WARRANTED" with subheads. (see) Nice for display. Roosevelt's address is signed in type: Theodore Roosevelt. Surprisingly this issue is in good condition being from the "wood pulp" era. Very hard to find issues that are not totally fragile from this era in paper.
Complete with 8 pages, small library stamps within the masthead, a few small binding holes along the spine, generally very nice.

wikipedia notes: In November 1907, sitting U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt took issue with using the motto on American coinage considering its usage "dangerously close to sacrilege":
