THE LIBERATOR, Boston, July 1, 1864  This is the famous anti-slavery newspaper by famed abolitionist publisher William Lloyd Garrison. The masthead features two engravings, one of a slave auction and the other showing slaves being emancipated.
The front page has much concerning General John Fremont and his bid for the Presidency against Lincoln (he would withdraw before the election) including: "Fremont's Position" "Gen. Fremont's Lost Opportunities" "Fremont & Lincoln as Anti-Slavery men" and more.
Other articles include: "The Copperheads & the Rebels" "Two Rebel Newspapers Ventilated" "Death of Joshua Coffin" "The President's Amnesty" "President Lincoln's Tribute to Owen Lovejoy" is signed by him: A. Lincoln. Much more regarding the war as well.
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, minors wear at folds, generally nice condition.
