Certainly the prime feature would have to be the great fold out map titled: "A Map of the Country Round Philadelphia including Part of New Jersey, New York, Staten Island and Long Island." which shows eastern Penna., portions of Maryland, most of New Jersey, all of Staten Island, Manhattan, Southwest Connecticut and most of Long Island.
This map measures 8 1/4 by 9 1/2 inches and is in great condition with just a bit of foxing.
The first article is a: "Debate...to inquire into the Ill Success of his Majesty's Troops" which takes half a page. This is followed by nearly 5 pages of: "Summary of Proceedings in the Last Session of Parliament" which includes various discussion concerning America.
Over a full page of fascinating text headed: "Thoughts on the Late Declaration of the American Congress", in which the writer analyzes various lines of the Declaration of Independence, including: "We hold (they say) these truths to be self -evident: That all men are created equal. In what are they created equal? Is it size, strength..." and more.
Other articles within include: "Dean Tucker's Plan for Separating from the Colonies" "Account of the Proceedings of the American Colonists..." which tells of war events including mention that "...the 4th of July was set apart throughout the colonies..." & mention of Gen. Arnold plus two reports on George Washington (see for portions). More as well.
A doubly great issue with terrific articles and a rare & desirable Revolutionary War map.
Complete in 48 pages, 5 by 8 1/4 inches with a full title/contents page featuring an engraving of St. John's Gate, great condition.
