THE GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE, London, August, 1821 The prime feature is the lengthy article: "The Coronation" which takes six pages covering the historic coronation of King George IV. Included are the four very nice foldout plates showing the coronation ceremonies, and terrific to have the report and plates in a London magazine.Also of significance is: "Reflections on the Death of Buonaparte" which takes nearly 2 pages.
Also within is a nice article: "Method of Rescuing Persons from Vessels Stranded on a Leeward Shore" which includes a full page print with 3 scenes as well as 11 more images within the 6 1/2 pages of text. Among other articles in this issue are: "Ancient Sculptures in the Royal Museum at Paris" and "Cultivation of the Welsh Language Defended".
Near the back is the: 'Historical Chronicle" which contains news of the day including a black-bordered: "Obituary - Her Majesty, Caroline Amelia, Queen of England".
This issue contains all four coronation plates called for.
Complete in 96 pages, full title/contents page, 5 by 8 1/4 inches, very nice condition.
