Over half of the front page is taken up with a very detailed account of the life of: "John C. Calhoun" who died just 6 days prior. Page 5 has: "Death of John C. Calhoun" followed by: "Funeral Services of Mr. Calhoun".
Much of pages 6 & 7 are taken up with extensive reporting on: "California - Report of Hon. T. Butler King", a few paragraphs noting in part: "The discovery of the gold mines had attracted a very large number of citizens...The greatest confusion prevails respecting titles to property...Towns & cities were springing into existence..." and so much more.
The front page has a review of a new book: "The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne".
Eight pages, a few minor margin tears, generally good condition.
