Actually a territorial newspaper as Montana did not become a state until 1889. A wide wealth of reports of the era, much obviously relating to Montana, plus a page 3 reports: "Letter From Utah" "the Mormon Situation--Mines, Weather, etc." with a Salt Lake dateline.
Eight pages, very nice condition. The masthead features a great engraving of a mining scene in Montana.
