ROCHESTER DEMOCRAT & CHRONICLE, New York, June 28, 1873  Among the front page stack of column heads is: "Woodhull, Claflin and Co. Acquitted" with the report with the same heading 2 columns away. The report begins: "At the trial of Victoria Woodhull, Tennie Claflin and James. H. Blood fort sending an obscene publication--Woodhull & Claflin's Weekly--through the United States mails...jury then rendered verdict of not guilty...".
Woodhull & her sister Tennie Claflin were leaders in the woman's rights movement and their "obscene" publication was Woodhull & Claflin's Weekly.
Four pages, large folio size, some older library repairs, good condition. The folder size noted is for the issue folded in half.
