SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE--EXTRA, Aug. 6, 1962

* Death of Marilyn Monroe (1st report)
* Actress, singer, model and sex symbol

A terrific & very displayable issue as the bold banner headline announces: "MARILYN MONROE FOUND DEAD" with a subhead: "An Overdose Of Sleeping Pills.
The ftpg. also features a photo headed: "Alone in the Dark" with the caption beginning: "This is the end of Marilyn Monroe's fabulous career--alone in a small, dark, cluttered room in a Westwood mortuary..."
Pages 5A and 5B are mostly filled with various photos of Marylyn Monroe, with much text on her life & career.
Given that her fame was gained in Los Angeles and she died there, great to have this report in a California newspaper. This is certainly one of the most desired death reports of any famous figure in American history.
The complete first section (of 3?) of 26 pages, minimal toning at the central fold, nice condition.
