The front page has two reports concerning the health of Mormon leader Brigham Young.
The first is headed: "Brigham Young's Dangerous Sickness" which notes in part that: "... Brigham Young is resting quietly. Vomiting and purging, from which he has suffered all day, ceased at six o'clock, and his physicians, who do not predict his recovery, regard his age as hopeful. Today all his family were summoned to his bedside, when he bade them farewell."
Immediately beneath this report is another, more brief: "Later--the Mormon Chief Dead". The report is datelined at San Francisco, and reads: "The following dispatch is just received from Salt Lake: Brigham Young died today at 4 o'clock."
Four pages, small piece from a blank, lower corner, a bit fragile but in nice condition.
