December 04, 1861

NEW-YORK TRIBUNE, Dec. 4, 1861 Page 6 has: "The President's Message" taking almost 4 1/2 columns with Lincoln stating in part: "...The Union must be preserved, and hence all dispensable means must be employed...", signed in type: Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln offers a great review of the beginning months of the Civil War.
Following Lincoln's address are the lengthy reports of the Secretary of War and the Secretary of the Navy.
Civil War headlines on the inside pages include: "THE WAR FOR THE UNION" "Attempt to Capture 2,000 Rebel Cavalry" "Gen. McClellan and Fugitive Slaves" and more.
Eight pages, never bound nor trimmed, very nice condition.
