GLEASON'S PICTORIAL, Boston, Jan. 7, 1854  Inside has a short story "written for Gleason's Pictorial" entitled: "The Veiled Mirror: Or, Pictures Of The New Year. By Horatio Alger, Jr." Quite early for Alger who was just twenty-two at the time.
The back page has a print showing variations of the: "New Regulation Uniform Of The New York Police" with a detailed article.
Several prints showing the celebration of the New Year in Germany, China, Algiers, and the West Indies. Also a centerfold spread of: "Portraits of all the Principal Rulers in the Known World at the Present Time" including Franklin Pierce, Queen Victoria & many others.
Sixteen pages, scattered foxing is mostly near the margin.
