THE ASHEVILLE TIMES--EXTRA, North Carolina, Aug. 14, 1945 A very displayable front page as the large headline above the masthead announces: "JAPS QUIT" with the interior of the letters being war photos.
Also a banner headline: "World War II Ends At Long Last; Nips Surrender to Might And Right" with more related subheads. Also a ftpg. photo of Hirohito on his horse.
This is an early report as most newspapers did not announce the Japanese surrender until August 15.
Complete in 12 pages, minor rubbing at the fold, good condition.
