THE GREENSBORO RECORD--EXTRA, North Carolina, April 12, 1945

* Franklin D. Roosevelt FDR death
* Great issue for display

This "Extra" edition gives an early report of the death of FDR as most newspapers of the day reported it the following day.
And this issue is extremely dramatic with a banner head in huge letters taking one-third of the front page: "ROOSEVELT IS DEAD" and a subhead: "Cerebral Hemorrhage Takes Chief Executive" with front page photos of both Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Harry S. Truman.
Present are four pages with no pages numbered, so we are unsure whether this "Extra" edition included only these 4 pages or if interior leaves have been removed. Minor rubbing at the central fold, very nice, displayable condition.
