PUBLIC LEDGER, Philadelphia, July 25, 1895
* H.H. Holmes - Herman Webster Mudgett
* Infamous "Murder Castle" in Chicago
* America's 1st serial killer
The top of front page has one column headings that include: "Bones In Holmes's Cellar" "They Were Buried In Quick Lime" "A Physician Says They Were A Portion Of A Human Truck" and more. (see) Great to have in a Philadelphia paper, the city where he was being held. Coverage on the recent murders by H. H. Holmes, who is considered to be America's first serial killer.
Sixteen pages, loose along the spine, archival mend along most of the central fold of the front page but doesn't affect the Holmes report, some margin wear with a few small tears, should be handled with care.
