THE DETROIT NEWS--Third Extra, May 2, 1945 The front page has a screaming banner headline: German Radio Says: HITLER IS DEAD ! " with a large photo of Hitler inspecting the wreckage of a German town after an Allied raid. Also a small photo of: "The New Fuehrer" Admiral Karl Donenitz.
