October 10, 1916

EVENING TRIBUNE, San Diego, California, Oct. 10, 1916

* Boston Red Sox team photo w/ Babe Ruth
* MLB baseball World Series - Brooklyn Dodgers

The front page has a headline announcing: "DODGERS WIN FIRST GAME AT HOME" with subhead: "Teams Hit Ball Hard And Rout Pitchers".
Included on the front page is the "Box Score" as well as nice text with an inning-by-inning account of the game found on page 9. This was game 3 of the Series. Boston would win the title in game 5.
There is additional coverage on the sports pages, including a great full team photo of the Red Sox showing Babe Ruth in the back row.
Babe Ruth was a member of the Boston team, but being a pitcher he did not play in this game, participating only in game two when he pitched 13 shutout innings, winning the game 2-1. But he went 0 for 5 at the plate. This was just his 2nd full season in Major League Baseball.
Complete in 14 pages and in uncommonly nice, clean condition.
