Item # 670522 THE AMERICAN MUSEUM, Philadelphia, June, 1792  Articles include a continuation of: "A Continuation of the Reflexions on the Manufactures of the United States..." "Manners & Customs of the Hindoos" "Gallantry" "Account of the Bastille" "Hessian Fly" includes a list of 9 key issues, signed in type by: Thomas Jefferson among others; "Review of the Last Session of Congress" and many other items.
Included as well is Appendix III which has a wide range of documents & articles including a letter signed in type by the President: G. Washington; a three page document on: "The Causes of  the Existing Hostilities Between the United States and Certain Tribes of Indians North West of  the Ohio..." which is signed in type: H. Knox, Secretary of War; plus a great wealth of news reports under multiple headings of:  "American Intelligence"
The June issue is complete in 60 pages, plus an additional 48 pages in Appendix III.. The June issue has a full title/contents page, 5 by 8 inches, very nice condition.

This title, along with the "Columbian Magazine", has the honor of being the first successful American magazine, both published in Philadelphia. The Museum was published by Matthew Carey and existed from January, 1787 thru the end of 1792.
