THOMAS'S MASSACHUSETTS SPY OR WORCESTER GAZETTE, July 24, 1794

* re. United States Navy creation
* Construction of the frigates begins
* USS Constitution, Constellation & U.S.

A very ornate masthead makes this a displayable issue.
Page 3 has a notable report from Boston: "American Frigates" in which it announces the building of the first frigates of the U.S. Navy: "...Gen. Jackson is for that to be built in this ports...one at Portsmouth, one in this ports, one at New York, the other at Philadelphia. Captain Nicholson is to command that to be built here."
The front page has two Acts of the Massachusetts legislature, one signed in type by the governor: Samuel Adams.
Four pages, wide, never-trimmed margins, very nice condition.
