Printed on pages 2 & 3 is: "Examination Of The President's Message, Number V" signed in type by: Lucius Crassus, the pen name of Alexander Hamilton.
A website notes: "Hamilton’s “Examination of Jefferson’s Message to Congress of December 7, 1801,” in which Hamilton, writing as Lucius Crassus (one of the great Roman orators), wrote of the need for “prudent aids and encouragements on the part of government” in addition to recognizing the important role and power of markets to bring economic growth.
Another page has the speech of the governor to the opening session of the State Assembly. The speech is signed in type: Geo. Clinton. Clinton was the first governor of New York and the only person to serve as Vice President under two different presidents.
Four pages, 9 1/4 by 11 inches, very nice condition.
