The Siege of Lille was the most prominent operation of the 1708 campaign in the War of the Spanish Succession. After an obstinate defense of 120 days, the French garrison surrendered the city and citadel of Lille to the forces of the Duke of Marlborough.
A single sheet issue, 7 by 11 1/2 inches, small hole in the front leaf affects 2 words, close-trimmed at the top of the back page causes partial loss to the top line, good condition.
