THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Sept. 18, 1759  Page 6 has two paragraphs of reports headed: "America", one beginning: "The Assembly in Maryland...voted 2000 men for the general service of this year, and 2100 rangers for the protection of their frontiers...".
Page 7 has a letter dated July 10 from a person in the expedition against Canada to his friend in Boston, dated in the River St. Lawrence". This nice letter details the early events of the siege of Quebec by the British.
It begins: "I am just now come down from within a little better than a mile of Quebeck city...Our army has been landed some days, to the amount of about 8000...one on the eastern extremity of Orleans Isle, the other on Point Levi...on the south shore...Where I am now is about 18 leagues from Quebec city. I expect some push has been made since the firing began...I hope in a month or two to bring an account of the reduction of the whole country; and that the walls of Quebec will be attacked by British coolers flying thereon." with more particulars.
Indeed, Quebec fell to the British on September 13, before this issue was published.
Eight pages, 8 1/4 by 11 1/4 inches, never bound nor trimmed, a small hole in each leaf, fortunately, does not affect any mentioned reports, nice condition.
