June 11, 1866
CONCORD DAILY MONITOR, New Hampshire, June 11, 1866 The top of page 2 has: "Constitutional Amendment" which begins: "The Constitutional Amendment passed the Senate, about six o'clock on Friday, by a vote of 33 to 11, as followed..." with a list of those who voted. This is followed by the full text of the historic Fourteenth Amendment, all five sections (see).
Also on pg. 2 is a nice editorial: "Constitutional Amendment" which begins: "The proposed Constitutional amendment which passed the Senate on Friday, and we trust will pass the House to-day, is one of the most important measures which this or any other Congress ever had before it..." with much more, taking an entire column.
Four pages, very nice condition.
