THE MASSACHUSETTS MAGAZINE, Boston, January, 1791 The bulk of the issue is taken up with a wide range of eclectic articles as noted on the full title/contents page. A few include: "Biographical Sketches of the Life & Character of the Late Governor Bowdoin" (lacking the plate called for); "Account of the Creek Indians" "The Dying Negro" "Valuable Hints Respecting the Erection of a Light House at Clay Pounds" in Massachusetts.
Near the back is: "Abstract of the Proceedings of Congress" at Philadelphia, which mentions President Washington, the memory of Ben Franklin, and so much more on the federal legislature. Much from the legislature of Mass. includes a lengthy "Speech" signed in type: John Hancock.
Complete in 64 pages, 5 1/4 by 8 inches, full title/contents page, various foxing throughout nd some wear at margins, more so to the earlier leaves.

Eighteenth century American magazines are increasingly scarce in today's market. This title was published by the famed Isaiah Thomas, the patriot printer from the Revolutionary War & founder of the American Antiquarian Society.
