THE OMAHA BEE-NEWS, Nebraska, May 2, 1932
* John Cockcroft & Ernest Walton
* 1st splitting of the atom - atomic nucleus
The bottom of the front page has a very historic report which notes the very beginning of the "atomic age" with a two column heading: "British Scientists Shatter Atom in Secret Experiment". See the internet which mentions Cockcroft and Walton as being the first to split the atom.
Complete in 14 pages, light toning and minor wear at the margins, generally nice.
