The top of the front page has a 3 line, 3 column head announcing the beginning of the missile race with the Soviet Union: "Russians Announce Firing Intercontinental Missile 'Huge Distance' To Target" with subheads (see). The announcement caused great concern in the United States, and started a national debate over the "missile gap" between America and Russia. America's first attempt of a month earlier ended in disaster.
Complete with all 60 pages, light toning at the margins, minor spine wear, generally in very nice condition.
