THE LONDON EVENING POST, England, Nov. 9, 1779 Over half of page 2 is taken u with correspondences between the British Secretary of War and General Burgoyne concerning the charges against the latter: "...that your not returning to America and joining the troops, prisoners under the convention of Saratoga, is considered as a neglect of duty and disobedience of orders...".
The back page has reports taken from the Boston Gazette which begins: "The progress of the British & Hessian troops through New Jersey was attended with such scenes of desolation & outrage as would disgrace the most barbarous nations..." and what followed are instances of barbarity (see photos).
Also a report from the Providence Gazette concerning events near Newport.
Four pages, folio size, never-trimmed margins, red tax stamp on page 3, some period inking at the top, and some water stains at the bottom.
