Page 2 begins with a letter from Sir Peter Parker concerning events in the Caribbean. Page 3 has mention that: "...were supposed to be King's ships and in search of Paul Jones's squadron...".
The back page includes: "The Americans have been driven to the necessity of exacting a severe retaliation for the burning & destroying of towns, villages, and cots; for setting fire to barns full of soldiers, and other acts of unexampled cruelty. It appears from their late conduct that they will neither give nor take quarter for the future. The British arms were never so disgraced...".
Also mention that: "...received an account...that a master of a vessel arrived there, said he saw an engagement between some English frigates and Jones's squadron when the latter were all either taken or destroyed." Also: "...to go to Georgia under General Prescott...are to remain with General Sir Harry Calder."
Four pages, folio size, never-trimmed margins, red tax stamp on page 3, an archival mend on pages 2 & 3, nice condition.
