CHICAGO SUNDAY TRIBUNE, August 26, 1945
* U. S. occupation of Japan begins
* USS Missouri (Big Mo) enters Sagami Bay
The front page has a great banner headline: "U. S. FLEET ENTERS JAP BAY" with subheads. Nice for display. Related map on page 2. Coverage on the initial occupation Japan with the United States Navy entering Sagami Bay. The official signing of surrender would take place a few days later on board the USS Missouri. Always nice to have notable events in history reported in this World famous publication.
Thirty plus pages, light toning at the margins, small library stamp within the masthead, small binding holes along the spine, generally very nice.
