Page 2 has a letter form General Heath from the Highlands, Dec. 25, 1781, which includes: "...Capt. Williams of the New York levies, who are doing duty on the lines of this post...made an excursion to Morissania, took & brought off one captain...without any loss on our side..." with a bit more. Also a report from New Jersey: "An embarkation of 2 or 3000 men is taking place at New York, said to be for South Carolina...A person is come from Jersey this morning & says General Leslie has killed & destroyed General Greene's whole army, the rebels make long faces, and say it is the greatest loss they ever meet with..." and more. This was untrue.
Page 3 has additional reports concerning the Revolutionary War including one bit: "...we learn that the Britons, there were in great consternation on the news of the capture of Earl Cornwallis. It was brought to believe the event: Many were frank enough to declare that they conceived, 'their race was now run!'..." with more.
This is a defective issue. Complete in 4 pages but portions from the top, and a portion from the bottom of the front leaf causing some text loss, plus various archival mends to all 4 pages.
