First report coverage on anti-Nazi theologian, Reverend Martin Niemöller, arrest by Heinrich Himmler's Gestapo in Berlin, Germany. Always nice to have notable events in history reported in this World famous publication.
Complete with all 36 pages, This is the "rag edition" printed on very high quality newsprint meant for institutional holdings. In great condition as such, a few small binding holes at the spine.
Note: While Reverend Niemöller was already well-known, he is currently best-known for his famous quote regarding his arrest:
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
Since this quote did not come until much later in his life, it is not within this newspaper report.
