NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, March 4, 1815 The issue begins with a great editorial concerning the end of the War of 1812, beginning: "The last six months is the proudest period in the history of the republic. The review presents us with a galaxy of glorious war deeds, terminating in an honorable peace, happily signed in the very arms of victory..." with much more, taking all of pages 1 & 2 and over half of page 3.
Also in this issue are: "War Events" with reports from New Orleans on that famous battle and taking two pages, and includes three letters signed in type: Andrew Jackson. Even more on the War of 1812 including a very lengthy: "Copy of a Letter from Commodore Decatur to the Secretary of the Navy". Even more on the war as well
Sixteen pages, 6 by 9 3/4 inches, foxing, otherwise in good condition.
As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
