Most of page 4 is taken up with some great content concerning Cownwallis's defense of his actions in America, particularly in relation to criticisms from General Henry Clinton. The first part is a letter from his concerning his actions at the historic Battle of Guilford Court House, noting: "...our failure in North Carolina ws not occasioned by our want of force to protect the rising of our friends, but by their timidity & unwillingness to take an action & useful part." Then a letter from the Board of Loyalists to Cornwallis, with his response signed in type: Cornwallis. This has more on his actions in the Carolinas.
Eight pages, 8 1/4 by 11 1/4 inches, very nice condition.
