LAS VEGAS DAILY OPTIC, East Las Vegas, New Mexico, Jan. 18, 1893 The top of the first column has heads: "PRESIDENT HAYES DEAD" "The Only Ex-President Besides Grover Cleveland Passed Away Last Night" with the report being quite brief near the top of the 4th column: "Rutherford B. Hayes, ex-president of the United States, is reported to have died at his residence in Fremont, Ohio, last night. This leaves Grover Cleveland the only living ex-president. President Hays was sixty-eight years of age."
Four pages, a bit irregular at the spine from disbinding, evenly toned & rather fragile so it must be handled carefully.
