A pair of issues with ftpg. column heads: March 15: "OUTLAWS SHOOT JUDGE & AIDS" "Troop of Mountaineers Assassinates President Officer, Prosecutor and Sheriff of Court "Member of Gang Is Rescued" "Rifles Crack as Sentence to Prison is Pronounced" "Floyd Allen Before the Bar" "Bandits Fleet to Mountains" & more. March 16:  "ALLENS IN JAIL; TWO WOMEN DEAD" "Member of Virginia Clan Taken, Wounded, After Battle at Home with Posse" "Sentenced Man Tries Suicide" "Cause of Court House Tragedy Slashes Throat in Jail" "Bandit's Wife Dies Fighting" and more.
This is the case of Floyd Allen, patriarch of the Allen clan of Carroll County, Virginia. He was convicted and executed for murder in 1913 after the sensational courthouse shootout recorded in these two issues that left a judge, prosecutor, sheriff, and two others dead. Allen allegedly triggered the shooting at the Carroll County Courthouse in Hillsville, Virginia as reported here, in which five people were killed and seven wounded.
Both issues complete in 12 & 14 pgs. respectively, browned, irregular at the spine, some margin tears, rather fragile & must be handled carefully.
