THE NEWS SCIMITAR, Memphis, Tennessee, March 1, 1908 Near the middle of the front page is a notable report with column heads: "PAT GARRETT SHOT TO DEATH" "Famous Gun-Fighting Sheriff of Old Southwest Killed By Sheepman--Had Sensational Career". There are 2 paragraphs on the ftpg. then it concludes in pg. 10 where are subheads: "Captures Billy the Kid" with details, and also: "Took Gambler To Roosevelt" with detail here as well (see).
The complete 46 page issue. The first two leaves have various chipping at the margins, some binding residue at the spine, and are loose from the spine. Otherwise even toning & the balance of the issue is rather good. Fortunate the Garrett article is not remotely close to any edge chipping. Should be handled with care.
